SUSTAINABILITY
ECO AND SOLIDARITY
The fast fashion effect has led to increasingly compulsive shopping, leading to the accumulation of more than 80 billion items of clothing each year worldwide, according to several studies. We don't wear 70% of the clothes in our wardrobe, and in many cases, getting rid of them is no easy task.
The textile industry is the most polluting after the oil industry. Society is becoming aware of this, which is why people are increasingly seeking sustainable alternatives in the market and opting more frequently for secondhand clothing.
Hibuy was founded with the goal of providing a solution to all these issues. It aims to help everyone in the process of getting rid of clothes and, at the same time, give them a new lease on life by offering consumers access to quality fashion at reduced prices. Buying secondhand clothing helps reduce the environmental impact of the clothing manufacturing process by 73%, saving water and energy, and reducing waste.
At Hibuy, we believe in second chances because we understand the lifespan of clothing. Therefore, we trust that the clothes that some no longer enjoy will fill the lives of others. We never forget that not all garments are fit to be sold, so even if we can afford to buy them, we will donate or recycle them.
The ultimate goal is to save time and space, but above all, to support responsible consumption and the collaborative economy.
Reselling clothing must be synonymous with sustainability, social responsibility, a win-win situation between people and the environment. We want to create a community of Hibuyers who share our approach to consumerism, share our values, and help us spread the word about collaborative consumerism.
