MORE ABOUT HIBUY
Hibuy was born out of our own need. We're two friends who saw a clear global need. We're caught up in the fast fashion trend, and this causes us to accumulate tons of clothes that don't make us happy. We clean out our closets all the time, and this is where the problem arises: What do I do with all these clothes? I wish someone would come and take everything!
Time is money, and space is precious, so we didn't want to spend our time or continue taking up space to find a sustainable outlet for these garments.
We created Hibuy to address all these issues. We wanted to help people get rid of clothes and give them a new lease on life by offering consumers access to quality fashion at affordable prices.
For all these reasons, Hibuy is the online world where you can sell clothes and buy other people's. A 360-degree wardrobe designed for everyone.
Home pickup:
We collect clothing from users who request it via email on the SELL CLOTHES page. Once we receive the clothing, we have 4-5 days to evaluate it. Once you accept it, the items will be put up for sale, and you will receive the corresponding percentage. If you disagree, the clothing will be returned to you for a fee of €14.99 for shipping and handling.
Online sales:
Items purchased from users who have passed quality control will be sold in our online store, with discounts of up to 80%. Delivery is expected within 1-5 days, and you have 15 days to return them.
Donation and recycling:
On a social level, this is Hibuy's most important point. Much of the clothing we receive won't be suitable for sale, but we still want to do something good with it. That's why we'll take it to various organizations or recycle it at recycling centers in the Community of Madrid.
Solidary:
The ultimate goal is to save time and space, but above all, to support responsible consumption and the collaborative economy.
That's why we're currently working with ReTree, a company dedicated to reforestation efforts. Together with them, with our monthly donations and voluntary contributions from our clients, we're creating a Hibuy Forest in Madrid. The cost per tree is €15.
PHILOSOPHY
We want to change the way the world views fashion. We want to slow down irresponsible consumption and raise awareness of the negative impacts of our actions. We don't compete with the textile industry, but we do need to be aware that it causes environmental and human destruction on an unprecedented scale, and we need to find solutions to make it less serious.
Hibuy aims to become a benchmark in the secondhand clothing buying and selling sector. We want to change the negative perception of this concept in our country to a very positive one, like the one it has in other countries. Buying secondhand clothing must be synonymous with sustainability, social responsibility, a win-win situation for people and the environment.
